D'Lynn Crist Has Got You

Hey! Another quick post to mention an update of my myspace blog, Girl Garage Mayhem, that features one amazing record at the momento by D'Lynn Crist, definitely one the girl garage greats! From the Mary Weiss-esque despondent vocals to the pounding backing garage beat, and of course the spoken interludes - its pure and sheer genius and written no less by the lady herself. The record itself was issued on a label set up by her father, a local Cincinatti car dealership mogul, round 1967. D'Lynn also released at least one further record - which of course I would love to get my grubby mits on. Hope you enjoy it as much as me! And oh yes the others and preety darn swell too!

Would someone be so kind as to post the mp3 of this? I'd be incredibly grateful.

D'Lynn Crist is my aunt. It was a friend of her father's that got her the record deal. My grandfather, Donald Crist, was not a car dealership mogal. He worked at NASA at Cape Canaveral, The Kennedy Space Center. He later left his position to become their bus driver as my aunt and my mother, LaDona Crist toured the country to perform at various venues including The Grande Ole Oprey and Wheeling Jambouree. If you have any more questions please e-mail me, Alyson at ALyCat4456@aol.com

Hello, I am D'Lynn Crist (now Underwood). funny to find yourself on line. I was fourteen when I wrote this song. Lived then and now in Orlando Florida. Recorded a few more singles and then in 1971 recorded with my sister LaDona under the name of the Crist Sisters. We made two records in the early 70's. Toured for many years with some of the Opry Stars, performed on the Grand Ole Opry and continued in the music business for years after. Glad to hear that my records is being enjoyed.

Great record! I have this with a gorgeous mod picture sleeve. D'Lynn, if you see this, I'm a fellow Central Floridian. I was wondering if you remember which band was backing you on these tracks -- was it a local Orlando group? Thanks, Jeff in Deltona

I met the Crist family way back in 1971 when we were on a tour with Claude Gray. My husband, Larry Fullam, and I visited them in Orlando, when we were on our honeymoon in June of 1972, and they visited our home in Nashville.
I'd love to hear from D'Lynn or LaDonna! My stage name was Diane Jordan. Google "Diane Jordan, Almost Famous" and leave a message on the Guest Book. :-)
